Class Ring

With this ring
The class ring is an important symbol of an impressive achievement. As defined in the Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC) Vision Statement:
The Texas A&M Health Science Center is a premier assembly of colleges devoted to educating health professionals and researchers who possess extraordinary competence and integrity.
By wearing the TAMHSC ring, you identify yourself as a member of a proud community that is dedicated to improving lives through compassionate health care and superior science.
Symbolism of the TAMHSC ring
The book
The open book represents knowledge, the practical vision that forms the foundation of professional education, as well as discoveries yet to be made.
DNA symbol
Rising from the book’s page is a symbol of our vital enterprise — the sharing of knowledge with others and transferring of discoveries into life-altering techniques and technologies. This mark represents the basis of life itself — the double helix of DNA — signifying your dedication to pursuing new understandings and devoting yourselves to improving lives in Texas, the nation and the world.
Laurel leaves
The leaves represent laurel. Laurel signifies achievement and honor; also, a token of peace and a symbol of victory. Laurel is symbolic of accomplishment.
