Presidential Award for Excellence in Institutional Advancement
Awards should be based on the following categories:
- Outstanding Philanthropist: This is an individual or family who, through direct financial support, has demonstrated a major gift commitment to an existing or proposed program/activity within the HSC. Gifts may be measured as a one-time significant commitment and/or as a proven track record of important commitments over a longer period of time.
- Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser: This is one or more individual(s) who has(have) demonstrated exceptional leadership skills in coordinating and motivating groups of volunteers (such as an alumni organization or an advisory board) that result in, or have an impact on, major fundraising projects benefiting one or more areas within the HSC.
- Outstanding Foundation: This honors a foundation that demonstrates outstanding commitment through providing significant financial support to one or more areas within the HSC. Gifts may be measured as a one-time significant commitment and/or as a proven track record of important commitments over a longer period of time.
- Outstanding Corporation: This honors a corporation (or its corporate foundation) that demonstrates outstanding commitment through providing significant financial support to one or more areas within the HSC. Gifts may be measured as a one-time significant commitment and/or as a proven track record of important commitments over a longer period of time.
Specific nomination procedure:
- Nominees should be endorsed by the respective dean or director (if applicable) and submitted to the vice president for institutional advancement (VPIA) for consideration. Nominations should include evidence of achievement and rationale for the merits of the nominee for this recognition. All nominees for this award will be forwarded to the president by the VPIA.
