Media Relations
We have updated our faculty and staff media relations tips. We ask that you take a look at this resource and especially note the process for handling any direct calls from reporters – it is vital that you do not engage in conversation at this point, but instead immediately notify your college/center communicator or MarComm’s media relations team so we can serve as the direct point of contact for all media outlets. This approach will save you time and stress while ensuring we are meeting the reporters’ needs in a timely and appropriate manner. If you have an interest in seeing the recurring results of our media relations activities, please send an email requesting that your address be added to our news clip distribution list. This weekly communication provides recipients with a snapshot of top headlines and news stories that include mention of the health science center.
The team handles:
- Advisories and releases to the media.
- Selection of research experts to address health topics.
- Publicity generation.
- Escorting media on campus.
- Writing executive/event speeches upon request.
- Spokesperson media training.
