Ways to Give
Ways of Giving
All gifts, regardless of size, are important to the growth and
development of the Texas A&M Health Science Center.
Contributions by check, securities, and planned gifts are
welcomed. In addition, pledges can be paid over
an agreed upon payment schedule. Gifts and pledges should be
made payable to the Texas A&M Health Science Center Foundation. (TAMHSC Foundation)
All gifts are important to the Texas A&M Health Science Center and there are several ways for you to accomplish your charitable objectives. For specific instruction about any of the methods below, contact the Office of Institutional Advancement:
Checks
Personal checks are the most popular vehicle for support of the Health Science Center because the gift is available to fund current needs and endowments, and results in tax savings in the year given. Please make checks payable to the TAMHSC Foundation and note the specific purpose of your gift in the memo section of the check. Mail checks to: TAMHSC Foundation, 8441 State Highway 47, Clinical Building 1, Suite 3100, Bryan, TX 77807.
Credit Cards/On-line Giving
The Health Science Center has implemented an online donation process. You can click on the "Give today" button and make a gift with your MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or American Express.
Stocks and Bonds
Transferring stocks or bonds to the Health Science Center Foundation that have been held long term can be a benefit to both you and the HSC. You will recieve a charitable income tax deduction equal to the full, current market value of the stocks or bonds and, in turn, avoid capital gains taxes.
Bequests and Planned Giving
A bequest gift through a will provides a donor with an opportunity to support the Health Science Center without diminishing the assets available during the donor's lifetime. In consultation with an attorney or tax advisor, language should be included in the will that describes the gift and the amount the donor wishes to designate. The Health Science Center Office of Institutional Advancement will answer any questions about specific giving opportunities or provide examples of the language to be included in the bequest agreement.
Real Estate
A gift of real property can be conveyed to the Health Science Center as a current gift or a planned gift, such as a retained life estate or bequest. By converting a home, farm, commercial property or undeveloped real estate to the Health Science Center, the donor can avoid capital gain taxes, receive a charitable income tax deduction and a potential income. The Health Science Center Foundation evaluates gifts of real property in accordance with the policies of the Texas A&M University System, including the potential for marketability and suitability.
Life Insurance
An easy and significant gift to the Health Science Center can be made with life insurance. Gifting life insurance policies requires the donor to change the owner and the beneficiary of the policy to the Texas A&M Health Science Center Founadtion.
