Education and Qualifications

Pam serves the Health Science Center as the Assistant Director of Environmental Health & Safety at the Bryan campus. Pam holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Environmental Science from West Texas A&M University and an Associates of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Environmental Health & Safety Technology specializing in Hazardous Materials Management from Amarillo College. She holds certifications as a Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) and a Biological Safety Officer (BSO). In addition, she is certified through OSHA to perform Accident Investigations, Ergonomic Evaluations, and holds 40 hr. OSHA Hazardous Waste Cite Worker (HAZWOPER) Certification. She is a licensed DOT & IATA Trainer for Shipment of Hazardous/Infectious Materials. Pam began working with Campus, Clinical, & Laboratory Safety Programs in 2003 at TTUHSC in Amarillo, TX and transferred to Texas A&M HSC in Aug. 2010. She is a founding member of the Medication Cleanout Program in 2008 which works to remove medication from the nation’s fresh water supply and find better drug handling, prescribing, & disposal techniques. She has been a member of multiple committees as the Campus Safety Representative including but not limited to; Institutional Biosafety Committee, Radiation Safety Committee, Infection Control Committee, Institutional Construction Planning Committee, and Institutional Loss Prevention Committee. Pam is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), The American Safety Council (ASC), The Health Physics Society (HPS), and The Campus Safety Health and Environmental Management Association (CSHEMA).
