Research Compliance
The Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies provides guidance, coordination, assistance, and oversight for all research compliance areas throughout the HSC. Routine day-to-day management of research compliance is assigned to appropriate individuals located on the component campuses. In addition, Memorandums of Understanding have been executed that permit certain HSC researchers to use compliance committees from Texas A&M University. The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) has a new Application for the IBC Permit. If your research involves the use of human blood, human tissues, human cells, recombinant DNA, pathogens (plant, animal, human) and/or biological toxins, registration with the IBC is required. To determine if you need IBC approval, please email the IBC at IBC@tamu.edu or contract the Office of Biosafety via email at biosafety@tamu.edu, via telephone at 979-458-3524.
